The Problem We Fixed
Let me tell you about the dumbest way we were losing users.
Someone would end up at our landing page. Click through. Want to try Amber. Hit "Start a chat." And then...
Username. Email. Password.
For someone seeking support, we might as well have asked them to solve a CAPTCHA in Sanskrit.
What's New
Starting today, you can sign up or log in to Amber using your Google account. One click, and you're in.
No more:
- Trying to remember which email you used
- Creating another password you'll forget
- Waiting for verification emails
- Multiple form fields when you just need to talk
Just click "Continue with Google" and start chatting.
We were so focused on building the perfect AI therapist that we forgot the first rule of mental health support: Make it easy to access help.
Why This Matters for Mental Health
When someone needs support, every barrier is multiplied:
- Depression makes everything feel impossibly hard
- Anxiety makes you second-guess every form field
- ADHD means you forgot your password... again
- Crisis moments don't have patience for email verification
We were asking people at their lowest point to jump through hoops. That's not just bad UX – it's borderline cruel.
Privacy & Security
Your conversations remain completely private. Google only handles authentication – we don't share your conversation data with Google or any third party. You can still create a traditional account if you prefer.
What's Next
→ Apple one-click log in.
→ Signup page UI changes
→ Webapp UI changes (we're giving amber a new UI!!)
We also have something exciting coming up but more on that later.
But today, we're celebrating that you can finally just click and start talking.
We're sorry it took us this long to figure that out.
As always, we're committed to making mental health support as accessible as possible. Every barrier removed is another person who gets help.
Try Amber today and experience how simple getting support can be.
